General terms and conditions for membership in My VR
These general terms and conditions ("Terms") come into effect on March 5th, 2024 and are applicable to the My VR digital loyalty program and apply to you who have chosen to register as a member of My VR . My VR is provided by VR Snabbtåg Sverige AB ("VR"), org. no. 556923-4304, Klarabergsviadukten 90, 111 64 Stockholm.
1. About My VR
1.1 My VR is a loyalty program where you as a member receive targeted offers, discounts, the opportunity to earn bonuses with 10% cashback and benefits when you travel with VR. You have the opportunity to keep certain offers and benefits for longer than 12 months if you buy trips for more than SEK 5,000 during a the last 12 months. Earned bonus can be used instead of cash payment when buying a train ticket for travel with VR.
Buy trips for more than:
SEK 5,000 - You start to earn bonus with 10% cashback on your next trip, free coffee/tea and you get a 10% discount in the café on board.
SEK 15,000 – You receive a bonus with 10% cashback, free coffee/tea and you get a 20% discount in the café on board. In addition, you get a next seat free regardless of ticket type when you travel alone.
1.2. Membership in My VR is free of charge. Membership can be signed here. To become a member of My VR, the information specified as mandatory during registration must be provided.
1.3. My VR is only available to private individuals.
1.4. Membership in My VR is personal and only one membership per email address is granted. Furthermore, membership is only available to people over 18 years of age. When you register as a member of My VR, a user profile is created on the Home page, where you can see the current bonus and your benefits, among other things.
2. Earning of bonus
2.1. You can start to earn bonus after you have purchased train tickets or commuter cards for travel with VR for at least SEK 5,000 during the last 12 months. The bonus is awarded when the journey is completed or 14 days after the commuter card is purchased and is personal. You can buy train tickets or commuter cards either via www.vrresa.se or via a travel agency. When earning a bonus you get a 10% cashback. Earning bonuses through purchases on the website requires that you are a member when the purchase takes place and that you enter the email address you registered your My VR account with when you book. Earning a bonus when buying a train ticket from a travel agency requires that your My VR member number or your email address is entered in the booking. It is not possible to re-register your trip in order to receive a bonus. Pre order food and service charges in case of rebooking or name change are not bonus-based. In the event of a name change, the bonus is only awarded to the traveler to whom the ticket was changed. You can not earn bonus on passenger type infant 0-2 years, child 2-6 years and child 7-15 years.
2.2. Earning of bonus only takes place through trips carried out by VR. This means that if you buy a so-called Travel plus trip, which means a combined trip with VR trains and one or more other transport companies' means of transport, bonus is earned in My VR only for the part of the route that VR operates.
2.3. Bonuses are earned as soon as the payment transaction for the current purchase, and the trip, is completed. If a payment for an item or service is refunded or redone, earned bonuses will revert to VR. Earned bonuses normally become available within one (1) day from when the trip linked to the bonus was completed. VR reserves the right that in some cases it may take longer before the bonus is available when you log in to your user profile on the Home page.
2.4. Train tickets purchased through the withdrawal of bonuses do not entitle you to earn a new bonus. VR reserves the right to exclude the possibility of earning bonuses for certain special offers.
2.5. VR strives to expand the selection of goods and services that provide bonus earning. Information on how you can earn and withdraw bonuses, and the offers and benefits that are offered to members from time to time, can be found on the Website.
3. Withdrawal of earned bonus
3.1. Earned bonus can be used to purchase trips during the year of earning and up to the end of the calendar year that falls two (2) years after that, after which they expire if you have not used them.
3.2. You can withdraw bonuses by choosing to use bonuses instead of cash payment when you buy tickets via the Website. The bonus can be used to buy tickets on all departures and ticket types. Bonus withdrawal requires that you are logged in to your My VR account at www.vrresa.se. Bonuses have no financial value and cannot be redeemed for cash or used when buying tickets from other transport companies.
3.3. VR's other terms and conditions (including the Purchase Terms and the General Terms and Conditions for the carriage of passengers by rail) apply to journeys obtained by withdrawing earned bonuses. These terms and conditions are available on the website.
3.4. VR is not responsible for any taxes and other charges imposed on you due to withdrawal of earned bonus.
4. Processing of personal data
4.1. VR collects and processes certain personal data relating to you when you apply for and use your membership in My VR.
4.2. VR is the personal data controller for the processing of personal data. Read more about how VR processes your personal data and about your rights under data protection legislation in our privacy policy.
5. Other provisions
5.1. You are responsible for your login details being treated confidentially and in such a way that unauthorized persons cannot get access to them. VR is not responsible for stolen, misused or embezzled login credentials or for improper use of your login credentials and/or earned bonuses by third parties.
5.2. VR reserves the right to change these Terms from time to time. You will be informed of material changes to the terms and conditions via your most recently provided email address no later than thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. The latest version of the Terms and Conditions is available on the Home Page. You are responsible for ensuring that your email address is updated and for informing VR if the email address you provided when signing up for membership in My VR changes. You agree that all communication regarding My VR takes place electronically.
5.3. You can cancel your membership in My VR at any time by contacting VR at the following email address: kundservice@vrresa.se.
5.4. VR has the right to terminate the membership with immediate effect if you violate applicable legislation, these Terms or VR's other terms, misbehave in connection with train travel, e.g. through threatening behavior towards staff or fellow passengers, or misuses your My VR membership in a manner that, in VR's opinion, is inconsistent with the Terms. Upon such termination, all points earned will cease to apply.
5.5. VR reserves the right to terminate My VR with immediate effect. Withdrawal of earned bonuses must then take place within six (6) months of VR announcing that My VR is ending.
5.6. VR has the right to transfer its rights and obligations according to the Terms and Conditions to others. You are not entitled to assign your rights and obligations under these Terms without VR's written approval.
6. Applicable Law and Disputes
6.1 Disputes regarding the interpretation and application of these Terms and Conditions will be settled by a general court, applying Swedish law.
